Marienbad or Czech Marianske Lazne belong to the eleven European spa towns, which have been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located closed to the Czech-German border. The spa was established in 1812 and soon achieved a worldwide reputation. It erected magnificent hotels, luxury shops, and colonnades around the spa parks. Cold mineral springs of various compositions and the mud, rich in iron sulphate, are cures for ailments of the stomach, intestines, gall bladder, kidneys, bladder, skin, respiratory tract, and nerves. Various celebrities visited the spa. The first golf course was opened by British King Edward VII in 1905. The current course was awarded the title of Royal Course in 2003. The course, clubhouse and restaurant from the Belle Epoque period have been modernized. The flat 18-holes park course of Scottish design with small greens is surrounded by mixed forest.
Arrival of tournament participants is on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 till 17:00pm. Accommodation is provided at the Parkhotel Golf Marianske Lazne 4* https://www.parkhotel-golf.cz/ across the road from the golf course entrance. Rooms are available from 14:00pm. Early or late check-in or extra nights can be arranged.
The most convenient way to get from Prague Airport to Mariánské Lázně is by taxi. The journey takes 2 hours and costs ca 130 EUR. Official taxi company of Prague Airport is UBER. To book the UBER taxi you can use their app or a self-service kiosk at the arrivals. There are several Rent A Car companies at the airport too.
The hotel has a restaurant and a café open all day. The hotel thermal wellness includes heated swimming pool, sauna, steam bath and beauty salon. There is also an outdoor tennis court and bicycle rentals. A car parking is available on the hotel premises for 8 EUR/day. The room rate includes buffet breakfast, access to the wellness, wifi, safe. Departure for the welcome party is at 18pm from the hotel reception. Everyone pays for their own food and drinks.
This year’s PIGS tournament takes place on the Marienbad course on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The ProShop offers plenty of e-carts and trolleys, however other rental equipment – golf clubs is very limited. We recommend to bring own clubs. Rentals must be arranged in advance via our registration form. Buggies and clubs are paid for directly in the Proshop. In order to divide the tournament into two rounds with a lunch break, we will start at 8:00am from hole number 11. After lunch, we will continue from 13:00pm from hole number 1. Categories and competitions will be divided in the usual way. The gala dinner takes place at the Parkhotel Golf. The tournament results will be announced before dinner at 18:30pm. For non-playing companions, a morning tour of Marienbad with an English-speaking guide is available. The tour starts at 8:30am from the hotel reception and ends at 11:30am in the Royal Golf Club for lunch together with players.
Departure is on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Check-out on the day of departure is until 12:00. The beautiful Kynžvart palace and park are worth visiting in the area.
